The December Kindergarten Student of the Month is Larkyn Melcher. Larkyn is such a sweet, kind girl. She is such a great friend and is always cheering her classmates on. She is always willing to help. Larkyn can sense when others are sad or upset and will go out of her way to help them feel better. She is a role model to others, always following directions and being respectful. Thanks for being such a great Kindergartener, Larkyn! It's a GREAT day to be a Titan! #WeAreTR

Bruce Arant, an author and illustrator of several popular picture books, presented to our elementary students yesterday! He walked kids through the process of creating a picture book. He loves visiting schools because his first grade teacher inspired him to become an artist. He encouraged students to try things that they've never tried before even if they are afraid because Bruce admitted that he erases more than he draws! Each group worked together to create a silly character and they learned that if they use their imagination, they will never be bored! Every student is going to get a copy of his drawing and have the opportunity to write their own story about it. He also signed and donated two books to our library. Thank you for coming, Bruce!

Student council hosted a dodgeball tournament in November, which helped support the Genoa Food Pantry. Each dodgeball team was allowed to bring in donations for an advantage in the tournament. Their entry fee and food donations allowed the Student Council to drop off over 150 food items and a $125 monetary donation for the Genoa Food Pantry. We are so proud of what these kids have done for their community, showing everyone it’s a great day to be a Titan!
