It's Digital Citizenship week!! In media classes, students are taking a pledge to be responsible digital citizens. They are learning about media balance, internet safety, and being kind online. Students also got a bookmark to celebrate! It's a GREAT day to be a Titan! #WeAreTR
Students in Personal Health learned about Adverse Childhood Experiences and how those experiences can impact brain development. The goal of the Brain Architecture Game is to build the brain as tall as possible, which represents functionality, and as sturdy as possible, which represents the ability to withstand stresses. Students drew Life Experience cards to determine the materials they could use to build the brain. Positive experiences earned a pipe cleaner and straw for support, negative experiences only a pipe cleaner. After the initial period of early childhood brain development, weights must be hung from the structure when life hands out stressors. After the activity, the students used the notes in their life journal to discuss experiences that strengthened or weakened the architecture of their developing brains. Twin River is holding its annual Dodgeball Tournament on November 15th at 6:30 pm in the Genoa gyms.
Community and Alumni Teams Welcome!
Please register your team with Mrs. Shanle by November 11th. There is a $25 registration fee per team. Teams must consist of 6-8 people and have at least 2 females. If teams donate 50 non-perishable food items, they will earn an extra-life medallion. Team check-in will start November 15th at 6 p.m. Snacks will be available for all participants. All food donations will be donated to the local food pantry.
