Twin River matched up with Columbus Lakeview Thursday 12/29 in the Columbus Holiday Tournament. The Lady Titans trailed 16-8 after one quarter but were only able to score three points in quarter number two and trailed 28-11 at the half. A solid third quarter had the Titans trailing 42-26 heading into the final quarter but the girls could not muster a challenge and the game ended with a 53-30 final score.
Coach Pilakowski said, "We were disappointed with how we played tonight - especially in the first half. We were tentative and did not attack their zone with the necessary aggressiveness and quick ball movement. In the 3rd quarter we pushed the ball and got some nice early offense and even in the half court we had some really nice possessions where we really moved the ball well. However, with as poorly as we played in the first half, we just didn't give ourselves a real chance to get back in the game."
Chloe Pilakowski led the Titans with 12 points while Hannah Yrkoski and Clara Preister added 8 and 6 respectively. Haylee Finn and Tricia Kunkee tallied 2 points each to round out the scoring for Twin River.
The Lady Titans are in action again Friday 12/30 at Lakeview vs Schuyler at 1pm in a consolation bracket matchup.
