FCCLA STAR events results. Twin River FCCLA to travel to Atlanta for Nationals in June
Twin River FCCLA came home with some hardware yesterday and will be traveling to Atlanta to represent our Chapter at the National Leadership Conference in June! Students competed in various STAR Events where they were able to showcase projects that they have worked incredibly hard on during this school year. The following students competed in STAR Events:
Kynzie Swantek, Racheal Strain, and Calie Booth - Food Innovations - Silver Medal
Raina Swanson - Career Investigation - Gold Medal
Caitlyn Van Winkle - Sports Nutrition - Silver Medal
The following students that competed in STAR Events will represent our Chapter and state at Nationals:
Irelynd Pearson - National Programs in Action, Senior Category - Gold & State Runner Up
Whitney Schmidt & Natalie Reeg - Chapter Service Project Display - Gold & State Runner Up
Katrina Borowiak & Kenedi Covert - National Programs in Action, Junior Category - Gold & State Champion
I am very pleased to announce that Alexis Cherry has been elected as a State Peer Education Officer and is the Vice President of the Family Leader Team as well as overall Vice-Chairperson. Lexi tried for a position on the team last year and fell short, but came back more determined and scored higher than all other competitors for a spot on the team. She has been instrumental to the success of all students that have done projects this year as well as the Chapter Awards that we received.
Additional Individual Awards Received:
Maddie Kreienhop - Go For the Red Award
Alexis Cherry & Lana Hebda - Ultimate Leader Award Honorable Mention
Kenzie Whitlow & Trevor Strain - Feed Nebraska Honorable Mention
Catherine Laska - A Day in Your Future Honorable Mention
The following Chapter Awards were also received:
Chapter Award - Gold Standard. This award was given based on our efforts involving membership, leadership, promoting FCCLA, and competitive events
National Program Award Families First - 1st Place (received by Conner Oberhauser & Payton Rinkol for their hard work and dedication to the events that were carried out by our chapter involving family activities)
National Programs in Action Community Service, STOP the Violence, & Student Body - Honorable Mention
Public Relations Award - 1st Place
Chapter Spirit Award - This was awarded to us by surprise! It is based on attendance at breakout sessions and other State FCCLA sponsored events, professional attire throughout the conference, spirit and support during all sessions, and overall conduct throughout the conference. We were loud, we were proud, but these kids were respectful of all rules, procedures, and everyone that they encountered. I am so incredibly proud of this award, they were an amazing group of kids to travel with!
If you have social media, I encourage you to follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook! There are lots of photos and videos of our accomplishments!
Thank you for your continued support of these kids and Twin River FCCLA!
